On Wednesday June 24th, we arrived to the airport to leave for Medellín. This time, I brought basically two full bottles of water and ginger ale and had no problems passing through security with them. The flight was supposed to be only 30 minutes. During the flight, I had to go to the bathroom really badly. I had been waiting for a while since I was blocked by the stewardesses offering food for sale and then both bathrooms were marked as occupied, though no one was in them. When I was finally able to get the door open, I went ahead inside although the fasten seatbelt sign had just gone on. There was a signal in the bathroom telling me to return to my seat. However it was really bad that I wasn't sure which would be safer - holding on to the handles in the bathroom or trying to walk through the plane. At one point, I thought we were about to land because of how bumpy it was. When I washed my hands, I think that's when one of he stewardess realized that k was in there and so she started to push to door open. As I started coming out, the stewardess gave a death glare, and because of how bad the rocking was, I decided to sit in the open seat near the bathroom instead of trying to walk up 10 rows to where my seat was. At one point, we dipped and I was lifted out of my seat slightly. Then we finally landed but the plane started to wiggle left and right. Needless to say, once we were landed, everyone started clapping. It was the roughest flight I've ever had. Some of the students even cried cause of the turbulence! We arrived to the hotel around 2:30, but we weren't going to eat until 4:00, which was a little annoying since that was technically our lunch. I was so glad that I had gotten banana bread and a frozen chai latte at Juan Valdéz before I got on the plane. Afterwards, since Juan Valdéz was near our restaurant, Dr. Steffanell treated us all to a drink there. Afterwards, I explored the surrounding area with 4 other people. We ended up in a quaint little area that was so artistic and hipster like. It was seriously one of the cutest most stylish areas. Unfortunately, all the boutiques were very expensive, as boutiques normally are. Later on, I decided to just go back to the hotel since I wasn't feeling the greatest and wanted to start getting ready for bed earlier since I hadn't gotten a whole lot of sleep the night before. ..but I left some time to be able to skype one of my best friends, Kylie.
