A Colombian Jounrney
My two month journey abroad

Welcome to my blog!
So, I am going to be in Colombia this summer from June 9th to August 2nd, so almost two whole months (55 days, to be exact)! The first part of my trip, I will be with Lee University, taking classes, and exploring the country together, and volunteering. As a Spanish major at Lee, I am required to take two classes abroad, which will be fulfilled through this trip. I really am not completely sure of the timeline of everything and what all we will be doing. However, I do know that we will be going to Cartagena, Santa Marta, Bogotá, MedellÃn, and Barranquilla, where I will be spending the most of my time and where I will be living with a host family (friends of my professor). At some point, we will be going to Cota to work with Provisión de Amor, an orphanage for young girls, most of which have been sexually abused due to Latin American sex trades. I will also be helping teach English to children in Barranquilla, as well as aiding Colombian college students who are learning to teach English to perfect their teaching methods (It's a good thing I just started working on my Teaching English as a Second Language this summer!). The trip with other Lee students ends on July 3rd, but I decided to extend my stay by a month to continue volunteering and to better my Spanish speaking skills. Please pray for me and for the students that will be going with me as we go to Colombia to learn, explore, and to serve God! We leave on June 9th, 2015! If you want to follow my journey in Colombia, I will try to be posting each day of my trip, cataloguing my experiences!
