Last night when we went to Price Smart, my family bought the type of cereal that I like. At one point, I said that I like others too, but I tend to buy Honey Bunches of Oats because I like to eat it with hispanic drinkable yogurt. Well, I never some them buy drinkable yogurt and I don't think they previously had it, but somehow, for breakfast, they gave me drinkable yogurt to put with my cereal! I was so surprised! I was not expecting that at all. I've also realized that it's going to take some time getting accustomed to their shower. There isn't a shower curtain, so I have to be super careful to not get water everywhere. However, it's completely impossible to not get the floor or part of the toilet wet. Also, there isn't hot water. Which, that's not really a problem since it can be really hot here and the water isn't freezing. But also, at least today, as some points there was barely any water coming out of the showerhead. Like, it seemed like it was running out of water. I mean there never really was lots of water nor was there much water pressure, but towards then end, there was almost no water. I don't know if this was due to other people using the shower that day, or perhaps I just need to shorten my showers haha.

At 2:00, I had to be at class for the first time since being here. We went to our professors house for class, most likely since the schools that we'll normally have classes at wouldn't have been open today, as it is a Saturday. I don't know if we're going to normally have classes on Saturdays or if that just happened this week since our first class, which was supposed to be Friday, got canceled. We were in "class" from 2:00-5:00 without a break, which was very difficult for me as I didn't get much sleep last night. (The neighbors started blasting music at 11pm until 4am and then there were various noises - talking, etc. in the house starting around 6am) Also, I didn't eat too much of my lunch (which was at 1:00pm) since I was still fairly full from my breakfast.

There weren't too many pictureaque oportunities today. So, all I have is a photo I took during our class when our professor was having technology problems. It's definitely not a great photo, but yeah, here it is.. Don't mind my finger on the bottom left.

As you can tell, I was super thrilled to have class..and also slighty embarrassed about taking a selfie during class but hey, I had to have some sort of picture for my blog!

After class, all of us walked to the mall (which is a different one from the one I went to yesterday and is nowhere near as big) to buy a present for Dr. Steffanell's sister-in-law, since she invited us to her birthday party at the Steffanells' house. We ended up buying a pair of pajamas (since we had no idea what she has, needs, or would have wanted, nor what her size was and pajamas can be a little bit big) and some flowers for her. The walk to the mall was a lot longer than I had expected which was intesified by the astronomical heat. By the time we walked from the mall to the Steffanells' house, my legs were in pain and I was really hungry! Dinner was given at the party at around 7:45pm, which was greatly received since I hadn't eaten since 1:00! We stayed at their house from 6:00pm until 9:15, when Dolly (a hispanic adult student from Lee who lives with a host family across the street from me) and I decided to leave. My host family is going to be out of town this weekend, and I couldn't go with them since that would involve missing classes. The maid is also going to go visit her family. So, the only person in the house would have been the grandfather, but the nephew of the family is going to come take care of the grandfather. Since I would kind of be alone (there wouldn't be any people my age) and since there wouldn't be anyone to prepare food, it was decided that I would stay with Dolly and her host family for the weekend. For this reason, we returned slightly earlier than the others since I still needed to pick up some of my belongings from my house and was afraid of the nephew being asleep if I came too late (meaning, I would have had to wear the same casual shorts and shirt from the day before to church). However, when I went to go get my things, I found that the maid will not be leaving until tomorrow morning. As a result, I decided to stay in my house until tomorrow since my house has the luxury of an air conditioned bedroom!

Before going to bed, I began talking to the maid. At one point, we began talking about personal things. Haha, I'm not quite sure how that happened. Her name is Sandra. She's funny and really nice. After talking for some time, she decided that we play a game. We wrote different categories, chose different letters, and then tried to think of a word for each category beginning with a certain letter. The point was to get as many points as possible, and if we wrote the same thing (which happened once in a while), we both had to scratch the word out. It made me laugh since once, she couldn't think of a fruit that started with n, while I was able to think of two: the most common, naranja, and the one I just learned/tried the other day: níspero.

Well, time for bed, since I need to wake up for church tomorrow! Oh, and I volunteered to read some verses in Spanish since no one else would. So, here's hoping I don't butcher any of the words in front of the entire congregation!
